The recent Barcampbank in Paris was very well attended with an energized crowd mainly from Paris but also a few participants from other countries such as the UK or Germany. Two members of the 'Open Bank Project' team came all the way from Berlin to talk us through their game changing concept of universal banking API to drive transparency in financial services and fight corruption.
I invite you to watch my video with the man who came up with the idea.

I am not sure how familiar you are with the very concept of "unconference" and the "BarCamp" movement? In the last few years, a group of passionate banking innovators organized a number of similar events all over the world, events focused on the finance industry, the "BarCampBanks".
As far as I am concerned, I had the opportunity to attend three BarCampBanks: BarCampBank London #1 and #2, BarCampBank Madrid #2.
Last week, Christophe Ducamp, one of the main organizers of the BarCampBank Paris #7, invited me to participate in Paris on Saturday 28 January. And thanks to Emmanuel Papadacci for his contribution. ;)
If you are working in financial services in the area of innovation, digital, mobile or payments I strongly recommend you attend this event, for at least two good reasons:

Yesterday, I completed the 7th, and last, social media in financial services workshop as part of my extended business trip to the Asia Pacific region. This 2-day workshop took place in Kuala Lumpur. I delivered one of my very best events to date to a fantastic group of participants from 8 banks in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.
What a great feeling!
It wasn't my first time in Kuala Lumpur. Two-and-a-half years ago, I chaired the 'E-Channel Management in Retail Banking' event, where I met many great people. Among them, my good friend Brett King, the best selling author for Bank 2.0.
And to be exact, this KL event was the 9th socia media event I delivered in APAC, if we add the workshop on crisis and reputation management I delivered in Hong Kong earlier this year, and my own Visible Banking workshop in Singapore from October 2010.

My publisher started shipping the first hard copies of my book 'customer experience withouth borders: a practical guide to social media in financial services' back in June. A few weeks ago, I proudly announced the availability of the kindle version!
After a successful soft launch and a few hundreds copies of the book already sold all over the world in countries such as the UK, France, Spain, Switzerland, the US, Brazil, Japan, Singapore and Australia, my publisher organized our first official book launch party (London, 12 September 2011).
I had the opportunity to talk the crowd (30+ journalists, students and financial services professionals) through the story behind Visible-Banking.com and my book, and answer questions from an engaged audience.
As I was going to travel to the Asia Pacific region in October and November, I was keen to put together similar 'book launch' events in Singapore and Australia.
